Biographical Information:

Melissa Palma, M.D. graduated from the University of Iowa with degrees in biochemistry and medicine. She graduated medical school completing distinction tracks in Humanities, Global Health, and Service in addition to membership of the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor Society. She was a family medicine resident at Greater Lawrence Family Health Center in Lawrence, MA prior to pursuing further training in preventive medicine at Cook County Health. In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Palma is a Masters of Public Health candidate at Northwestern University in Chicago.

Professional Involvement:

Dr. Palma has served in various leadership roles throughout her clinical training at the Iowa Medical Society, Massachusetts Medical Society, and Illinois State Medical Society. Since beginning her training in Illinois in 2018, she has served as a resident representative to the ISMS Council on Economics. She was selected as a delegate by the Philippine Embassy in the US for the Filipino American Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO). Dr. Palma is a member of the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM), American Public Health Association (APHA), and the Philippine Medical Association (PMA) in Chicago.
