Biographical Information:

Clarence W. Brown, Jr., MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and currently practices at the Advanced Skin and Mohs Surgery Center, out of Chicago, IL and St. Joseph, MI, where he is the Medical and Surgical Director of Mohs Micrographic Surgery.

An ISMS member for 22 years, he previously served as a trustee of ISMS, is currently a vice-president of ISMS and is past president of the Chicago Medical Society to name of few of his many positions in organized medicine.

Dr. Brown received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center, Chicago, IL and a fellowship at Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. He also completed a Juris Doctorate degree at the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, IL.

Professional Involvement:

At the Chicago Medical Society, Dr. Brown has served on the following committees: Healthcare Economics; Physician Advocacy; Communications/Technology; Long-Range Planning (vice chair); Credentials/Elections (chair); Editorial Advisory Panel; and Membership-IMG. He is a current delegate to ISMS.

Dr. Brown currently serves on the ISMS Medical-Legal Council. He previously sat on the Council on Communications.

Dr. Brown is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology; American College of Mohs Surgery; American Society of Dermatologic Surgery; and International Society of Dermatologic Surgery. He currently serves on the Audit Committee of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and as a member of the Business & Operations Support Task Force of the American Academy of Dermatology; he has also chaired the Website Committee of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
