    ISMS-Backed Medical Practice Act Extension Signed into Law

    Governor Rauner recently signed House Bill 1365, which extends the sunset of the Medical Practice Act until Dec. 31, 2016. The General Assembly had unanimously passed the bill.

    The Act spells out the licensure standards and disciplinary proceedings for physicians in Illinois.

    New School Physical Form Adds Meningococcal Vaccine

    The Illinois Department of Public Health revised the Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination school physical form to accommodate changes in immunization requirements.

    Illinois law now requires students entering 6th and 12th grades to receive the meningococcal vaccine. This requirement took effect for the 2015-2016 school year, and is reflected on the new form, which physicians may begin using immediately.
