World AIDS Day is observed each year on December 1. Since 1988, this day has been dedicated to raising awareness about HIV and mourning those who have died of the disease.

How many people are currently living with HIV?

Many people wear a red ribbon, the symbol of HIV awareness and support, on World AIDS Day. If you would like to wear one, you can make your own or order one online for free.

FUN FACT: World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day.
