Nationwide, influenza activity continues to decrease, but is still hovering above average for this time of year.

The Illinois Department of Public Health recently downgraded influenza prevalence from "regional" to "local." The worst appears to be behind us.

Yet even with the focus still on the present flu season, it is already time to pre-order influenza vaccines for the next flu season, which typically starts up in the fall.

Manufacturers determine the quantity of influenza vaccine they will produce based on orders they receive this time of year. Therefore, pre-ordering influenza vaccines now is the best way to ensure your practice will be appropriately stocked for the 2018-2019 flu season.

If your regular vaccine supplier hasn't reached out yet, be sure to contact them now.
