ISMS Is Changing Our Membership Structure
Posted on: 7/5/2018

In an effort to serve Illinois physicians more effectively, ISMS is making significant changes. At our recent Annual Meeting, your ISMS House of Delegates authorized a membership pilot, which alters ISMS' membership structure to bring you more choice, flexibility and value.

What does this mean for you?

These changes will initiate for the 2019 membership year to make membership more relevant for you.

  • ISMS and county medical societies both provide value to physicians. The medical profession is strongest when physicians participate in all levels of organized medicine. We also believe in independence and freedom of choice for physicians. As a result, membership in both ISMS and your county medical society will no longer be required.

  • ISMS is working to enhance member benefits to make sure they align with physicians' needs. New programs and resources are in the works to help you grow and succeed as you care for your patients. As always, we will continue to be your voice in Springfield

This three-year pilot will also impact our Annual Meeting, policy process and governance. You'll hear more about these elements soon.

We are committed to giving every ISMS member the ability to participate and be heard. Let's start now – help us. We've created a special email account (BOT@isms.org) for members to provide any input.

We are excited for what the future holds, for every ISMS member. Thank you for your membership!
