  • More Needs to Be Done to Ensure Access to Mental Health Treatment!

    The physician and medical student members of ISMS are urging Gov. Rauner to sign Senate Bill 1707 to increase patients' access to mental health and substance use disorder treatment.

    The bill would help address the opioid crisis by expanding access to Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), which ISMS strongly supports.

  • BCBSIL Will Automatically 'Edit' ANY Claim with Modifiers -25 and -59 for Review

    ISMS is hearing from some members that clean claims are being automatically "edited" for review by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) for services when modifiers -25 and -59 are used.

    If the claim cannot be validated and appears to be used incorrectly, the claim for the modifier will be denied.

    Here's what to do if your claims with these modifiers are being denied.
