Get the word out to your patients about the next
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day being held on October 26, sponsored by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Proper disposal ensures that unused or expired medications will not get diverted or cause harm to the environment.
Download ISMS'
patient flyers promoting the Take Back Day and hand out to patients, post on your practice website, share via social media, or hang in your exam rooms.
You can also help patients
locate a convenient authorized collection site where they can dispose of prescription drugs year-round.
Whether unused or expired drugs are sitting in home medicine cabinets or inside medical facilities, the
frontline battle of the opioid epidemic is preventing prescription drugs from
getting diverted.
IMPORTANT: It is unlawful for physicians to take custody of
prescription medications for the purpose of disposal unless they are licensed
collectors.
