The 2020 ISMS Annual Meeting Is Canceled
Posted on: 3/19/2020

Regrettably, ISMS has decided to cancel the 2020 Annual Meeting that was slated for April 17-19, 2020. This decision is directly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Physicians play a vital role on the front lines of medicine and lead the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 patients. We want to protect our meeting participants so that you are best able to fulfill your patient care duties.

ISMS is currently evaluating the options for fulfilling governance and policymaking actions that typically occur during this meeting. ISMS will provide an update when those details are finalized.

Full refunds will be sent to those non-members who paid to attend the meeting. Refunds for president’s night tickets will also be processed.

We understand the burden physicians are contending with to obtain CME considering state and national specialty are also cancelling meetings. However, earlier this week the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) announced a licensure renewal extension to Sept. 30, 2020, which also includes an extension for CME requirements to Sept. 30, 2020.

In the meantime, you have access to more than 35 hours of free on-demand CME. Our courses include options to completely fulfill Illinois’ requirements related to opioid and sexual harassment prevention training, which remain in effect. ISMS also has several live webinars planned that include CME.

Please be sure to contact the Wyndham Springfield City Centre directly to cancel your hotel reservation (217-789-1530).
